Lens

The lens enables focused vision over varying distances. It becomes rounder or flatter upon viewing objects which are close or at a distance respectively. The lens is capable of great dimensional change (accommodation) in childhood. As we get older the lens loses its elasticity and accommodation diminishes. Focused vision over a wide range worsens. This is corrected with bifocal glasses.
